Holiday projects

Holidays bring with them the undeniable excuse to enjoy all kinds of wonderful treats! My favorite Christmas desserts are, of course, cupcakes! There are many ways to make the always festive cupcake more than appropriate for holiday get-togethers! Here are few designs and flavors that worked for me.
Thanksgiving cupcakes - back left: devil's food cupcake with peanut butter buttercream frosting and harvest themed sprinkles. Back right: german chocolate chocolate chip cupcake with whipped chocolate butter frosting and chocolate chip garnish. Middle left: peppermint chip cupcake with peppermint swirl buttercream frosting and a whole peppermind garnish. Middle right: merichino cherry cupcake with vanilla buttercream and a merichino cherry and sugar crystal garnish. Front left: lemon spritz cupcake with lemon zest/vanilla buttercream and a fresh lemon peel curl garnish. Front right: angel food cupcake with brown sugar butter cream and a brown sugar garnish.
Peppermint chip cupcakes (all the same flavor). Decorations from back left: solid sprinkle, North Pole, snowmen, peppermint, snowflake, Christmas tree.

Chocolate Cherry Dr. Pepper Cupcakes with whipped chocolate buttercream and drizzled dark chocolate and merichino cherry garnish (with a little red straw as a nod to the Dr. Pepper!)

Good ole Pumkin Spice cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and a cinnamon and raw sugar garnish.

'Twas a delightful Thanksgiving/Christmas season for Cupcakey Cakes! Can't wait to see what is to come for Cupcakey Cakes in 2012! Here is a little sneak peak...

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star cupcakes - lemon blueberry cupcake with vanilla butter cream and a sugar crystal candied gumpaste "twinkle" star and white sugar crystal garnish.

Happy New Year from Cupcakey Cakes!!!
